Assistant Cemetery Registrar

Assistant Cemetery Registrar needed at Greenwood Chapel.  Candidate will perform various clerical duties relating to the cemetery function of the Association; and will assist the Cemetery Registrar as needed.  Works under the direction of the Cemetery Office Administrative Manager.  Two years office experience; strong computer and mathematical skills; basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Access; and 50 wpm typing required.  Must be extremely detailed and accurate; possess the ability to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions; have a pleasant personality; front desk appearance; and display a high level of professionalism. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage difficult employee/customer situations.  Strict dress code required.  Rotating weekly schedule:

Week 1: Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.   Week 2: Tuesday – Friday, 7:30-4:30 and Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  

Full-time Receptionist/Cashier

Full-time Receptionist/Cashier needed at Mount Olivet Chapel.  Duties include meeting and greeting, in a pleasant and professional manner, those entering the funeral home.  Directs families to chapel or graveside services, and acts as a liaison between the public and the staff member.  May assume other duties as assigned, including acting as Cashier when needed.  Cashier duties include accepting payments from customers, funeral directors and family service in the form of cash, credit card, check; issuing receipts; and opening/closing of cash drawer daily.  Must have a pleasant personality; front desk appearance; and display a high level of professionalism.  Strict dress code required.  Office experience, basic computer skills and light typing required.  Current schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and may rotate to include working an occasional Saturday or Sunday with an alternate day off during the week.  However, the schedule will change when the company returns to normal business hours (open after 5:00 p.m.) and may include evenings up to 9:00 p.m.

Part-time Mortuary Student/Provisional Licensee

Greenwood Funeral Homes and Cremation is searching for a Part-time Student/Provisional Licensee.  This position provides on-the-job training and teaching to students attending mortuary school. The student/employee will perform a variety of funeral service tasks under the instruction and supervision of a licensed director/embalmer in order to meet the requirements of the Provisional Licensing Program.

To qualify for this position, the applicant must be currently enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science curriculum at an accredited college of Mortuary Science; or must enroll and become a student in the AAS program during the first available session of instruction immediately following date of hire or transfer (dual-licensing program only).  The student is wholly responsible for all tuition and fees.  Graduated students are not eligible for this position.  Student/employee must maintain passing grades (C or better) while enrolled in the program and upon request, must provide proof of grades and/or school enrollment.  Failure to maintain student status and passing grades will result in disqualification and removal from this position, as well as potential separation of employment.

Student/employee must also meet and follow all employment standards expected of other company employees.  Continued employment following successful completion of school/provisional program is not guaranteed.  Position requires a high school diploma or GED; valid Texas driver’s license; good driving record; professional appearance and good communication skills.  Demonstrated ability to work without supervision is required.  Consistent attendance and punctuality are a must.

Work schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Hours may occasionally vary depending on school and funeral service schedules.

Full-time Funeral Director or Provisional/Apprentice

Funeral Directors (single or dual licensed) needed at Greenwood & Mount Olivet Chapels.  Provisional Licensees who have passed all tests are eligible for this position.  Rotating weekly and weekend schedule; does not include on-call work or removals.  Valid Texas driver’s license; good driving record; professional appearance and good communication skills required.  Must be licensed in Texas.  Experience in a high-volume funeral home and cemetery structure preferred.

Full-time Embalmer

Experienced embalmer needed at Mount Olivet Chapel.  Must be able to effectively handle high call volume and rotating schedule.  On-call work or removals not required.  Valid Texas driver’s license; good driving record; professional appearance and good communication skills required.  Must be licensed in Texas.  Schedule: Monday - Friday, 12p-9p.

Family Service Provider

Family Service Provider needed at Greenwood and Mount Olivet Chapels to provide ongoing assistance to those who have had a recent death, as well as those desiring to make their arrangements in advance.  Position requires advanced organizational, communication and presentation skills; high level of professionalism; valid Texas driver’s license; and strict dress code.  Must demonstrate the ability to work independently without supervision.  Previous sales experience preferred.  Must obtain Preneed Agent licensing within 90 days.  Work schedule varies and includes weekends and evenings; must be flexible and willing to meet with families in-home or at the funeral home.
